Q. I am considering having blepharoplasty to remove my under eye bags. I previously had a consultation with Transform in Turkey Mill nr Maidstone in Kent but they insisted that they only do this under general anaesthetic. I was wondering if you can do this with local. Can you send me information soon please?
A. You can have it done under local, or local with some sedation, but I quite understand why someone would prefer to do the surgery under a general anaesthetic as it is obviously close to the eye, and as the eyelid invariable gets retracted, you may be able to see. Mostly just the very bright theatre light. It understandably bothers some people. Is there any particular reason why you would like to avoid a general anaesthetic? Please see www.barbarajemec.com for more information on prices, procedures and hospitals. Best wishes Barbara
